BC Ferries says it can accept debit and credit card transactions again at the Swartz Bay terminal following a service disruption Wednesday morning.
A “local power interruption” was to blame for the service issues related to debit and credit card payments, according to the company.
Cash was still accepted as a form of payment, but customers were warned of delays at check-in at the terminal north of Sidney.
“Power has now been restored,” said BC Ferries in an updated notice around 8:30 a.m.
It says the 8:15 a.m. sailing from Swartz Bay to Otter Bay (Pender Island) departed 20 minutes behind schedule because of the interruption.
