Country music fans can start preparing as, for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic, Sunfest is scheduled to make comeback.
The Sunfest Music Festival is slated to return in 2022, scheduled to run over the B.C. Day long weekend, from July 28 – 31.
The event, which is put on by Wideglide Entertainment, will return to Laketown Ranch — which is located in Lake Cowichan on Vancouver Island — and on Tuesday morning, organizers revealed the lineup of performers for the upcoming year.
The musical performances were revealed in a post made to social media, outlining that Darius Rucker will be the headliner for the 2022 event.

Along with Rucker, festival-goers can expect to see Billy Currington, Kip Moore, Mackenzie Porter, Randy Houser, Dallas Smith, Orville Peck, and Madeline Merlo, with late-night performances from James Barker Band, Hunter Brothers, and Aaron Pritchett.
Rucker was formerly the lead singer and guitarist of Grammy award-winning band, Hootie & the Blowfish, but has since gone on to release multiple award-winning country albums. Rucker’s country-singing career is perhaps best known for his rendition of Old Crow Medicine Show’s Wagon Wheel.
While organizers revealed many of the artists expected to be at Sunfest in 2022, festival-goers can expect the announcement of more performers as the event draws closer.
The event will span four days and consist of four different stages on the property, which is located at 8811 Youbou Rd in Lake Cowichan.
Tickets for the Sunfest 2022 are slated to go on sale this Friday, December 10, and can be purchased online at www.sunfestconcerts.com.
