A concerned crowd gathered in Victoria’s Cook street village on Thursday evening after baby raccoons became trapped on a roof.

The raccoon babies were clearly in distress and could be heard crying as they tried to get free from the roof of Oxford’s Foods.

Witnesses say the raccoons kept sliding down the side of the roof and a large crowd watched from the ground as the animals hung on to the side of the building.

Eventually, the baby raccoons were able to get back on top of the building and witnesses say they escaped through a hole in the roof.
