Crisp & Delicious brand Chicken Breast Nuggets are being recalled by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency due to possible Salmonella contamination.
The recall was issued on Friday for the product distributed by Sofina Foods Inc. in B.C., Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec.
The recall may possibly be national.
Those with the “Chicken Breast Nuggets – Uncooked Seasoned Breaded Chicken Cutlettes” product at a 1.6-kilogram size, with the code 2019 JL 19 and UPC 0 69299 11703 5 are urged to return them to stores or throw them out.
If customers suspect they are sick from consuming the product they should immediately contact their doctor.
The recall was triggered by findings from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency during its investigation into a foodborne illness outbreak.
The agency is conducting a food safety investigation which may lead to the recall of other products and says food contaminated with Salmonella may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick.
Young children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems may contract serious and sometimes deadly infections while healthy people may experience short-term symptoms.
