The Capital Regional District (CRD) is warning of a cougar sighting Thursday morning at East Sooke Regional Park.

The CRD says the cougar was spotted between Beechy Head and Cabin Point.

On Wednesday, Saanich police responded to a report of a cougar sighting in the 5400-block of the Pat Bay Highway.

Officers were unable to find the animal despite an extensive search.
