Island Health on Tuesday afternoon declared a coronavirus outbreak over at Glacier View Lodge long-term care home in Courtenay.

The health authority first declared the outbreak back on Feb. 28, after one staff member tested positive for the virus.

“No other cases in residents or staff were identified through extensive follow-up testing,” Island Health said in a statement.

As a result of the outbreak being declared over, social visits at the facility will resume on March 10, with visits being allowed to the unit where the outbreak had been identified resuming the following day.

Island Health says admissions, transfers, and congregate dining will resume, with COVID-19 safety protocols in place.

Glacier View Lodge is located on Back Road.
