Pedestrian suffers life-threatening injuries after being struck on the Old Island Highway in Colwood

Emergency crews on the scene after a pedestrian was struck on the Old Island Highway in Colwood.

The B.C. Coroners Service says they are investigating a death involving a female in her 70’s, following a pedestrian being struck in Colwood Friday.

West Shore RCMP responded to the Old Island Highway around 6:20 p.m. after a woman was hit by an SUV, she was sent to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

She was crossing the road in front of the Juan de Fuca Rec Centre.

The incident is under investigation and West Shore RCMP are casking on anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them at (250) 474-2264  or Crimstoppers.
