Comox’s Cassie Sharpe captured gold yesterday in the World Cup Women’s freestyle half-pipe event in Cardrona, New Zealand.
The 24-year-old learned how to ski and snowboard on Mt. Washington, and is considered a strong hopeful to represent Canada at the 2018 Winter Olympic games in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
