Island Health has added Ecole au-Coeur-de-L'isle in Comox to its COVID-19 exposure list.

Parents, students and staff at another school in the Comox Valley are being warned about possible exposure to the novel coronavirus.

Island Health has added Ecole au-Coeur-de-L’isle, located on Linshart Road in Comox, to its COVID-19 exposure list.

The potential exposure dates are Feb. 16 and 17.

Ecole au-Coeur-de-L’isle is now the fourth school in the Comox Valley to have experienced a COVID-19 exposure event in recent days.

Queneesh Elementary School and George P. Vanier Secondary School were added to Island Health’s exposure over the weekend while Glacier View Secondary was added on Monday. All three schools are located in Courtenay.

The health authority says students who have not been contacted by public health did not have a “high-risk exposure” and should continue going to school, provided they are not experiencing any symptoms.

An exposure event is defined by Island Health as “the presence of lab-confirmed COVID-19 case(s) in the school” during the period when a person is infectious.
