Comox Valley RCMP seek suspect involved in 'serious' assault and robbery

The Comox Valley RCMP is looking to the public for help following a “serious” assault and robbery that took place early Friday morning.

The incident took place around 12:50 a.m. at a business in the 700-block of Anderton Road in Comox, according to police.

The victim told police a man allegedly approached her, displayed what appeared to be a handgun and demanded her valuables.

She said the suspect stole her purse and her car keys. In the process, the victim sustained a laceration to her neck.

“Police are still gathering evidence in the area and will release surveillance photos of the suspect if they become available,” said Comox Valley RCMP spokesperson Const. Monika Terragni.

“If you were in the area, please review any dashcam or surveillance footage you might have and call police right away with any information.”

Police say that the suspect is described as a man in his 20s, standing approximately 5’6” to 5’8” with short hair and a skinny build.

At the time of the assault and robbery, he was wearing black pants, a black disposable mask and had the hood pulled up on a light grey jacket with a white diamond pattern.
