RCMP are asking the public to help them identify a suspect in an alleged robbery that occurred yesterday morning in the Comox Valley.

According to Comox Valley RCMP, a man walked into a business in the 400-block of Ryan Road in Courtenay at approximately 3:30 a.m. on April 3 and “demanded all the money” from behind the counter.

Additional information wasn’t disclosed but Mounties say the suspect was last seen behind the business and running towards Headquarters Road.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male. He was last seen wearing grey sweatpants, a white hoodie with grey sleeves and had a bandanna wrapped around his face, according to police.

“We believe that the suspect either got into a vehicle or fled on a bicycle after the robbery. The hoodie worn by the suspect is distinctive and we are hoping that someone saw this male before or after the robbery when his face was not covered,” said Const. Monika Terragni, Comox Valley RCMP media spokesperson in a press release.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Comox Valley RCMP at 250-338-1321. Individuals wishing to make an anonymous report can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or online at comoxvalleycrimestoppers.bc.ca.
