Two girls recently received a generous gift from Comox Valley RCMP after their piggy bank was stolen during a break and enter.

According to Comox Valley RCMP, while officers were investigating a recent break and enter, and theft, of a home, they heard that money was stolen from a piggy bank in the house belonging to two girls. The two girls had been saving their birthday and chore money for several years to buy an iPod they could share.

“They were heartbroken, just like that, all the money was gone,” Cst. Rob Gardner of the Comox Valley RCMP said in a statement.

The officers then sent a message to the detachment and soon enough money was raised to buy both girls their own iPods.

“More tears were shed the day that the members returned to the scene of the crime, and turned over the money raised by the RCMP employees.”
