A collision and possible gas leak have shut down traffic in the area of Craigflower and Rankin roads, according to Victoria Police.

Officials are warning of traffic as a result of the road closures and are asking the public to avoid the surrounding area.

BC Hydro is reporting a power outage as a result of the collision and says there are 41 customers affected. Crews were dispatched at 3:03 p.m. The incident is listed on BC Hydro’s website as a “motor-vehicle accident.”

CHEK has reached out to VicPD, but no information as to what caused the incident or if anyone has been hurt has been released at this time.

This is the second pole to be taken out in the last four days.

This is a developing story. More to come.
