UPDATE: Saanich Police says the lone rider of a motorcycle has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a single-vehicle crash Friday night.
Police were called at 6:38 p.m.
Burnside Road West was closed in both directions between Helmcken Road and Granville Avenue and is expected to reopen in the next hour.
Saanich Police says the motorcycle went off the road at Little Road.
Collision analysts are investigating what circumstances led the motorcyclist to veer off the road.
