WATCH: With a comfortable 15-6 lead in the bottom of the ninth inning with two outs, the Victoria HarbourCats brought in the departing Claire Eccles to record the final out in what was the final game of her WCL career.

After surrendering a base hit to the first batter she faced, Claire got the second hitter to ground into a fielder’s choice at second base, sealing the deal for a Victoria win over the visiting Corvallis Knights.

5,165 fans flocked to Wilson’s Group Stadium at Royal Athletic Park on a beautiful Friday evening to witness Eccles’ final game, as she now heads to Team Canada for the Women’s World Cup in August.

The ‘Cats bats exploded on this occasion, as the boys in baby blue smacked the ball all over the ballpark, including many going over the fence. The HarbourCats will now head to Port Angeles to take on the Lefties.
