Volunteers are being sought for a City of Victoria advisory committee that focuses on renters.
The City of Victoria is currently seeking five individuals to serve on its Renters’ Advisory Committee.
The advisory committee is comprised of 12 members who provide advice and policy recommendations to city council in the areas of protecting and increasing rental housing as well as improving conditions for renters.
Volunteers are expected to serve a two-year term on the committee and should have professional or a diverse background as renters, according to the City of Victoria. Those who work in the rental sector will also be considered.
City council will review volunteer applications and those who have been appointed by council will be notified in December.
