Central Saanich PD issue $173 ticket to motorist with more than 30 cm of snow on their vehicle

Central Saanich Police are reminding motorists to clear snow off of their vehicle before driving.

According to the Central Saanich Police Department, officers stopped a Nissan Xterra SUV at West Saanich Road and Keating Cross Road at around 1:20 p.m. on Tuesday after noticing the vehicle had more than a “foot and a half” of snow on it.

“Please note that you are required to clear the snow from your vehicle before taking to the roads,” the Central Saanich Police Department said in a post on social media.

The motorist was issued a $173 ticket for an insecure load.
