Capitals bench boss adjusting to life after Clippers

WATCH: Mike Vandekamp was the head coach and general manager of the Nanaimo Clippers for seven seasons, but after an abrupt exit from the team last season, Vandekamp has landed in the division as the GM/head coach of the Cowichan Valley Capitals.

Leaving the team mid-season, Vandekamp took a break from hockey entirely until he was approached by the Cowichan Valley Capitals to lead the team this season.

Vandekamp makes the commute from Nanaimo to Duncan in order to run the team, and with a clean slate in the Cowichan Valley, he is looking to build the Capitals into a championship contender.
