The Capital City Comic Con Enthusiasts Society has announced this year's Capital City Comic Con has been postponed.

The Capital City Comic Con Enthusiasts Society has announced the Victoria event is postponed out of caution due to COVID-19.

The pop culture event was scheduled to be held March 20 – 22, but organizers are asking for patience as they wait to provide future dates and ticket refunds in the coming weeks.

“It is not a decision we take lightly. Recently, the Screen Actors Guild (SGA AFTRA) issued a notice to its members that it was in their best interest to cease flying for the foreseeable future,” a media release statement said.

“Recognizing the union body for actors has issued a notice to protect the safety of their members some Capital City Comic Con guests have made the choice that it would be best for them to postpone their travel to Greater Victoria for the time being.”

The society says the event brings in nearly 10,000 pop culture fans every year, wearing costumes and taking part in panels, workshops and games.

The Capital City Comic Con Enthusiasts Society says up-to-date information will be posted on
www.capitalcitycomiccon.ca as it becomes available.
