WATCH: After a tough loss to the world #1 ranked Australians to open the tournament, the Canadian Women’s Rugby Sevens team won both of their remaining games on the day to finish 2-1 after day one of the Canada Sevens at Westhills Stadium in Langford.

Canada was handed a tough 22-7 loss at the hands of the Aussies to open the tournament, but a 24-10 win over Spain and a dramatic 19-17 win over Ireland to close out the day gave the Canadian team a much better outlook heading into day two. Charity Williams played the hero in the final game, as she broke multiple tackles to run the length of the field for the game winning try with no time remaining on the clock. Stay tuned for day two highlights tomorrow on CHEK News at 5.
