The Sportsplex in Campbell River will be closed from May 2 to Oct. 31 to undergo repairs.
A statement from the city says the repairs include replacing the roof, which has been leaking.
Some of the sports equipment, including cardio machines, weights and spin bikes, will be moved to the Community Centre at 401 – 11 Avenue during the closure.
The anticipated opening date for the temporary weight room at the Community Centre is May 16.
Fitness classes will resume at the Community Centre on May 9, and the hours of the centre will be extended from 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Fitness passes from Sportsplex will be valid at the Community Centre, or people can suspend their passes.
Staff are currently working to develop plans for summer programs, and will post an update to the website when details are finalized.
