WatchTwo major police incidents, both in the City of Victoria, both with unanswered questions. A suspect involved in a stabbing along the Galloping Goose Thursday is still at large. Today, investigators on that case, had to shift focus, after a body was found in Beacon Hill Park. Mary Griffin has more on a busy 24 hours for Victoria Police.

Victoria police taped off access to Beacon Hill Park, disrupting traffic at Camas Circle shortly after 7 a.m. Friday morning.

They were responding to reports of an unresponsive person. Investigators have determined the person has died and they are investigating.

Just hours earlier, on Thursday afternoon, VicPD investigators were at the Selkirk Trestle after a report of a stabbing. One man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The Galloping Goose trail was briefly closed, and the canine unit was called in, but the suspect is still at large.

Residents who live near the Gorge say they were surprised to hear news of the stabbing.

Most of the police tape is gone, but bandages and gloves were seen just metres from the Galloping Goose trail. Residents say they often see people emerging from these bushes.

Victoria police are also continuing their investigating into the stabbing.

Anyone with information on either incident is asked to contact Victoria police at 250-995-7654.
