BC Ferries says the Baynes Sound Connector on its Buckley Bay-Denman Island West route has been repaired after a lengthy delay for travellers on Wednesday night.

The ferry was removed from service for maintenance on Thursday morning and returned to service after 12 p.m.

The vessel was having problems with its cable system.

It was temporarily being replaced by the MV Quadra Queen II.

Just after 6 p.m. Wednesday night, BC Ferries advised customers of a mechanical issue on the Baynes Sound Connector and service did not resume for nearly three hours.
