The deck span installation for the Johnson Street Bridge started Sunday morning, after it was halted for a day due to adverse weather.
The bridge will now be closed until 5 p.m. Monday.
In the meantime all pedestrians, cyclists and drivers will be redirected to the Bay Steet bridge, as the crane barge will be parked directly underneath the existing bridge during the process.
The installation was first planned to start on Saturday and end Sunday, but commuters can now expect significant delays Monday as traffic will be funnelled through the Bay Street Bridge.
