BC Hydro says the Brewster Lake Road bridge beside John Hart Dam will be closed from May 2 to 13 for bridge repairs.
The bridge will be closed 24/7 while the repairs take place.
The company has developed a plan to replace old wood road decking, which requires there to be no public traffic in order to maintain the integrity of the bridge during the work.
Additionally, there is an upcoming project on the road BC Hydro.
The company will be replacing the bridge with a downstream berm and have Brewster Lake Road go across the berm in summer 2023 as part of the John Hart Dam Seismic Upgrade Project.
The Bailey bridge, which was implemented during the John Hart Generating Station Replacement Project, will once again be used during the seismic upgrade project.
The road will be closed to the public for six years during the seismic work.
