The Conservation Officer Service launched an investigation in September 2016.
The hunter killed the grizzly by bow and arrow during black bear hunting season.
The man was given a $1 fine, and ordered to pay $8000 to the Habitat Conservation Trust Foundation.
He was also given 12 months probation and ordered to complete hunter training.
The female grizzly had previously been relocated by COS from an urban area to Powell River.
