RCMP say no foul play is suspected after a body was found on Wednesday near the shore in Maple Bay.
North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP said a man was walking on the government dock near Arbutus Avenue on Wednesday when he found a number of personal items. He attempted to find the owner of the personal articles on his own but was unsuccessful. The man then called police just before 11 a.m.
The body of the individual who owned the items was found near the shore in Maple Bay later that afternoon.
The investigation is being handed over to the BC Coroners Service. The BC Coroners Service will not be releasing or confirming the identity of the deceased person.
