Premier John Horgan and the Minister of Mental Health and Addictions Judy Darcy are set to make an announcement about mental health supports for COVID-19.

The press conference will take place on Thursday at 10:30 am and can be watched live on our CHEK Facebook page and YouTube channel.

Yesterday, the premier announced a new protocol for British Columbians returning to the province. All residents must complete an official isolation plan before getting off the plane. This plan must be filled out on official documentation provided to all flyers and approved by provincial officials before travellers can leave the airport.

Horgan also announced yesterday that all international flights coming to B.C. will only be able to land at the Vancouver International Airport (YVR). They will no longer be able to land in Victoria or Kelowna, starting Thursday.

The premier made another important announcement on Twitter, declaring the Easter Bunny as an essentials service, giving the beloved character full authority to roam the province to deliver “eggs-ellent” Easter treats.

As the Easter weekend was about to kick off, the province closed all provincial parks and prohibited the use of all campgrounds in B.C. due to coronavirus concerns. The public parks in the CRD remain open.

Following the premier’s press conference at 10:30 am, the province’s top health officials will hold their daily B.C. COVID-19 update at 3:00 pm.

Currently in B.C. there are 1336 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with 48 deaths.
