“We’re currently experiencing technical difficulties with our online booking system,” the company tweeted at 3:38 p.m. Monday. “We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience as we work to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.”

It comes on a particularly busy day for passengers. The 5, 6 and 7 p.m. sailings from Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay were all full, with less than 50 per cent deck space available for the rest of the sailings Monday night, as well as the first three sailings Tuesday morning.
Wait times for phone reservations were 20 minutes at one point Monday, with BC Ferries encouraging travellers to call if they needed to make any changes to existing reservations.
Hi Leanne, as there will be a change fee required to make this modification, you will need to speak with a representative. They can be contacted at 1-888-223-3779. Sorry for the inconvenience! ^cm

The BC Ferries website also went down on Thursday for a time, though the company never clarified what caused the temporary outage.
The company recently said it is working on an official app that is expected to be released by the end of this year.
