All remaining sailings for the Baynes Sound Connector between Buckley Bay and Denman Island were cancelled on Dec. 9, 2022 due to adverse weather conditions.

Adverse weather is prompting BC Ferries to cancel a number of sailings across multiple routes on Friday.

Horseshoe Bay to Departure Bay, Comox to Powell River, Nanaimo Harbour to Gabriola Island, Horseshoe Bay to Langdale and Denman Island to Buckley Bay are routes with cancelled sailings.

Horseshoe Bay to Departure Bay has two sailings at 3:45 leaving Horseshoe Bay and 5:55 leaving Departure Bay cancelled.

Four sailings between Comox and Powell River are cancelled: the 3:25 p.m. and 7:10 p.m. trips leaving Comox and 5:15 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. sailings leaving Powell River.

Two sailings between Nanaimo Harbour and Gabriola Island are cancelled; the 4:35 leaving Nanaimo Harbour, and 5:05 leaving Gabriola Island.

The 5:30 p.m. leaving Horseshoe Bay and 6:40 p.m. leaving Langdale have been cancelled on the Vancouver to Sunshine Coast route.

All remaining sailings between Denman Island and Buckley Bay have been cancelled.

BC Ferries will be updating its website as decisions are made about future sailings on each route. Environment Canada has issued snowfall and wind warnings for parts of the Island, prompting the cancellations.
