B.C. Speaker of the House Darryl Plecas has launched a new investigation into suspended sergeant-at-arms Gary Lenz, who was cleared in May of administrative wrongdoing and is fighting to be reinstated after facing allegations of misspending.

Solicitor General Mike Farnworth told Global News a complaint was made to the Office of the Police Complaint Commissioner two months ago under the Police Act, but is not criminal in nature.

He would only say it is a human-resources matter.

Lenz was escorted out of the legislature in November alongside former clerk Craig James and placed on administrative leave
