The results are in, and the most popular baby name in British Columbia for this year is Noah.
Noah leapt to the top spot in 2022, and held the position again this year.
Before that, the name wasn’t the most popular baby name since 2007.
Noah’s predecessor for the title, Olivia, fell another spot to number three this year.
The top three most popular baby names in British Columbia this year were Noah, Oliver and Olivia, according the province’s Vital Statistics Agency’s preliminary figures for the year.
In 2022, the top three baby names were Noah, Olivia and Oliver.
So far this year, From Jan. 1 to Dec. 18, there were 37,650 babies born in B.C.
The top 10 baby names of the year, according to the preliminary stats from Vital Statistics Agency, are:

- Olivia
- Theodore
- Liam
- Jack
- Emma
- Sophia
- Ethan
- Leo
