At 11 am Monday morning, BC health officials will provide an update on coronavirus as it relates to the province.

BC Health Minister Adrian Dix and provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry will address the public, along with media, at the BC Legislature in Victoria.

The announcement follows an earlier federal government press conference that stated the 237 Canadians on board the quarantined Grand Princess in California will be flown back to national soil and isolated at CFB Trenton for 14 days.

Over the weekend Dr. Henry got emotional after announcing six more confirmed cases in the Province.

“This is something I am very concerned about, I went through SARS, I went through ebola, I’ve been through the pandemic in 2009 and I just know how stressful it is for our healthcare system, for my colleagues and for families dealing with this.” said Henry, close to tears on Saturday.

The national total has climbed to 71 as of 8 am PST this morning and the impact of the disease caused for panic selling on the stock market this morning as well.

This is a developing story and will be updated following today’s announcement.
