B.C. Hydro says over 5,000 of their customers on southern Vancouver Island are without power Sunday afternoon.
Many of the outages are due to trees down across power-lines.
A wind warning was issued by Environment Canada Saturday and Sunday for Greater Victoria.
Winds are expected to reach 60 to 90 km/h by Sunday afternoon, but will ease by early Monday morning.
Crews are working to resolve the outages, one of the largest in in the Goldstream area where 1,733 customers are impacted.
A map of the outages can be found here.
