A crane being transported through Metchosin has reportedly knocked down a series of powerlines in the area.

The incident took place along Happy Valley Road, near Wild Ridge Way.

A jumble of wires can be seen hanging down off the poles overtop of a BC Transit bus stop, however, the power is still on in the area.

Despite the power remaining on in the area, Telus and Shaw services are down.

BC Hydro crews are onsite as well as internet services and West Shore RCMP.

At this time, traffic is still open in both directions along Happy Valley Road.

The crane incident comes just one week after a mobile home, being transported along Gillespie Road in East Sooke, collided with powerlines and caused an elongated power outage to the area.
