Residents living near Saanich’s Cadboro Bay want a left over from last month’s major windstorm removed.
A ferrocement-hulled sailboat washed up on the beach on Dec. 20, 2018.
The boat has a large hole in its side and it’s too heavy to be towed away.
People who live in the Cadboro Bay neighbourhood say they are concerned about the danger the beached boat poses to passers-by.
The Canadian Coast Guard says the Cadboro Bay boat is one of more than 75 vessels that were reported to be drifting, sunk or beached because of the storm. The coast guard also says the boat has been assessed and deemed a low risk to pollute.
