Some travellers with plans to leave or visit Vancouver Island have been grounded Tuesday morning because of fog over B.C.’s coast.
An Environment Canada fog advisory issued Monday remains in effect Tuesday for east Vancouver Island and the Southern Gulf Islands, along with Metro Vancouver.

At Victoria International Airport, a number of flights departing for Vancouver have either been delayed or cancelled, along with trips to Seattle and Calgary.
Arrivals to YYJ are also affected, with cancellations and delays on flights mostly from Vancouver, and one other plane coming in from Calgary.
There were early cancellations and delays at Nanaimo airport early Tuesday, but most flights are showing on time as of 8:35 a.m. to and from the Harbour City, except for one delay of an Air Canada flight to Vancouver.
At the Comox Valley Airport, officials say there were a number of flights affected Monday and there is a cancellation for a WestJet flight scheduled to arrive in Comox at 11:09 a.m. from Calgary, and the 11:45 a.m. WestJet departure back to Calgary.
After cancelling evening flights Monday, Helijet put a hold on all flights at Vancouver Harbour and Vancouver International Aiport because of fog.
The service has resumed for travel between Vancouver and Victoria, but with delays and flights remain on hold for Nanaimo.

The fog is also causing trouble for Harbour Air, asking its customers Monday to check on their flight’s status.
