One lane of Highway 14 remains closed due to a minor mudslide near Sombrio Beach Sunday afternoon.
The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure says the debris slide is relatively small and didn’t impact any vehicles at the time of the slide.
“Minor mud/debris slides are not uncommon after heavy rain,” said the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure in a statement.
The debris, however, is obstructing the eastbound lane which will remain closed until the road is repaired.
Single lane alternating traffic is letting traffic go through, so drivers can expect some small delays.
“The ministry hopes to have the eastbound lane reopened as soon as it is safe to do so,” the ministry said.
