Victoria Police say one person has been arrested and transported to hospital after an incident broke out on Southgate Street around 5 p.m. Sunday evening.
A SWAT team and Victoria police responded to the incident, evacuating nearby residents and closing neighbouring roads near the 1000-block of Southgate Street.
Officers are in the 1000-block of Southgate for an ongoing incident. We're still investigating but have evacuated some units out of an abundance of caution. There are currently no injuries that we're aware of. We'll have more info to share as we are able. #yyj #F1834553

Witnesses said they heard police shouting commands at someone, and police cautioned that the public should avoid the area.
Some four hours later police said the call on Southgate had been resolved with the arrest of one individual.
Victoria police say the information they are able to share is limited due to privacy reasons, but there were no injuries in the incident and the suspect remains in hospital for treatment.
