One provincial Government ad campaign promoting the recent budget is too political according to BC’s auditor general Carol Bellringer.
Bellringer says her office hasn’t done an audit but having seen the ads she believes the guidelines should be reviewed.
In an interview with Vancouver Province, the auditor general said she told the Liberal minister in charge of advertising that she has concerns about the “balanced budget 2017” ad campaign.
Bellringer says the ads aren’t specific enough, particularly the mention of balanced budgets.
The Liberal government doubled its advertising budget to $15 million.
The opposition is accusing them of spending taxpayer money for partisan messaging.
