BC Ferries has cancelled sailings between Horseshoe Bay and Departure Bay due to mechanical issues with the Queen of Surrey.
The Queen of Surrey provides service on the Sunshine Coast (Langdale) and Vancouver (Horseshoe Bay) route so the Queen of Oak Bay, which normally services the Horseshoe Bay to Departure Bay route, is being shifted to cover the Sunshine Coast.
The ferry company cancelled the 6:15 a.m., 10:40 a.m., and 3:45 p.m. sailings leaving Horseshoe Bay and 8:25 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 5:55 p.m. sailings leaving Departure Bay.
Additionally, sailings on Nov. 10 will also be cancelled.
(Cont'd): We will contact customers with bookings on these cancelled sailings to let them know if we have space available to fit them on an alternate sailing later in the day, or if their booking must be cancelled. In the case of cancellation, we will refund fees and/or fares.^dk

The Queen of Cowichan will carry on with its usual schedule on the route.
BC Ferries says the Queen of Surrey is experiencing mechanical difficulties with its main engine and it is working to resolve the issue.
