Courtenay’s Margo Bonnell is living out her wildest dreams at 85 and checking off her bucket list in a fast and furious style.

“You have to go for what you wanna do,” said Bonnell.

“You’ve only got one life.  Make the best of it.”

Bonnell lost her beloved husband Lou after 66 years together and says she knows life can be taken before you get to spending it all.

“He was good, he was a great guy,” said Bonnell, smiling.

Lou was too scared to see her skydive but she’s wanted to for over 30 years. So on Friday, she took a picture of him, stuffed it into her bra and pursued her dream.

She climbed into a Skydive Vancouver Island plane and took her own breath away.

“I just remember saying here we go Lou,” she said laughing.

Chris Baribeau was on the plane and said Bonnell inspired everyone on the jump.

“Very inspiring,” said the Skydive Vancouver Island employee.

“She was awesome. She had great energy. I really liked that she was carrying a photo of her late husband in her bra.”

“One more thing off my bucket list,” Bonnell said after the jump.

Bonnell said she’s sure Lou would have been laughing from up above about that happy, bubbly lady he loved for so many years who is still refusing to act her age.
