A 73-year-old man had his vehicle impounded and won’t be allowed to drive for 90 days after police say he failed to stop at a roadblock and displayed signs of “liquor indicia.”

On Sept. 2, a grey 2009 Nissan Cube approached a police roadblock on Foul Bay Road and did not stop when told to do so, according to the Oak Bay Police Department.

They say that once officers were able to get the Cube driver to stop, they say the driver displayed signs of “liquor indicia.”

An approved screening device (ASD) was then administered and the result returned a “fail” reading, say police.

As a result, the 73-year-old man was issued a 90-day immediate driving prohibition and his Nissan Cube was impounded for 30 days.
