Passengers who were on five recent flights that landed or departed from an airport on Vancouver Island are being warned about possible exposure to COVID-19.
The British Columbia Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) has added five recent flights to their exposure list since Sept. 10. Three of the flights are linked to Victoria while the remaining two flights are linked to Nanaimo and Maple Bay.
The five flights with exposures are listed below:
– North Cariboo Air 1545 from Terrace to Nanaimo on Sept. 7 (affected rows not reported)
– Harbour Air 228 from Victoria to Vancouver on Sept. 6 (affected rows not reported)
– Harbour Air 411 from Vancouver to Maple Bay on Sept. 6 (affected rows not reported)
– Swoop 209 from Edmonton to Victoria on Sept. 6 (affected rows are 14-20)
– WestJet 3356 from Victoria to Vancouver on Aug. 30 (affected rows are 5-11)
Those who were on a flight that has been added to the province’s COVID-19 exposure list should self-monitor for symptoms for 14 days and those who were sitting in rows identified are considered to be at a higher risk of exposure due to their proximity, says the BCCDC.
Symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, chills, cough or worsening of chronic cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, loss of sense of smell or taste, runny nose, headache and fatigue.
