A 4.5-magnitude earthquake struck southwest of Fort St. John Thursday evening, according to Earthquakes Canada.
The quake struck 16 kilometres south-southwest of Fort St. John at 5:27 p.m. PT (6:27 p.m. MT)., with a depth of five kilometres.
Several people in Fort St. John, Taylor, Chetwynd and Dawson Creek reported feeling the quake.
Emergency Info BC said aftershocks can occur and people can drop, cover and hold on whenever they feel one.
