Earthquakes Canada recorded a 4.1 magnitude earthquake southwest of Tofino early Wednesday morning.
The agency says it happened at around 12:40 a.m. about 250 southwest of the town, but no damage occurred or is expected.
The depth of the quake was five kilometers but Earthquakes Canada said no tsunami was expected.
Only two people reported feeling the earthquake as “weak,” according to the agency’s community internet intensity map.
Three earthquakes have been recorded near to Vancouver Island so far in 2024. On Jan. 29, a 4.5 magnitude quake was felt about 200 kilometres west of Port Hardy.
On Jan. 8, another 4.7 magnitude earthquake was recorded 186 kilometres west of Port Hardy.
