A 4.1 magnitude earthquake struck about 325 kilometres southwest of Tofino Tuesday, according to the USGS.

An earthquake struck more than 300 kilometres southwest of Vancouver Island on Tuesday.

According to the United States Geological Survey’s website, a 4.1 magnitude earthquake struck about 325 kilometres southwest of Tofino at 4:25 p.m.

The quake was recorded at a depth of 10-kilometres in the Cascadia Basin, near an area called the Juan de Fuca Ridge.

A tsunami alert has not been issued.
