33-year-old identified as victim in Oak Bay suspicious death

Steven Middleton, 33, has been identified as the person whose death is being investigated as suspicious by police.

The Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit has identified 33-year-old Steven Middleton as the victim in the suspicious death in Oak Bay this week.

Police are continuing to investigate the death, and are asking for anyone with dash cams or other video footage of Beach Drive between Cadboro Bay Village and Gonzales Bay from 10 p.m. on July 25 to 7 a.m. on July 26 to submit it to help with the investigation.

Additionally, police are hoping for footage of the surrounding streets in the same time frame.

There is no evidence to indicate the public is at risk, according to police.

Dash cam or video footage can be submitted to the Saanich Police evidence portal.

Anyone with information about Middleton’s activites during the week leading up to July 24 or may have spoken with him is asked to contact VIIMCU at 1-250-380-6211.
