Three people were sent to hospital after two vehicles collided Saturday near the bottom of Mount Washington.
The Courtenay Fire Department says they responded around 8 a.m. after a hatchback was making a turn off Highway 19 onto Strathcona Parkway, and struck a white SUV traveling southbound.
Officials say there were only minor injuries.
A ticket was issued to the driver of the hatchback by the Comox Valley RCMP.

“[The minor injuries were] very fortunate, considering [the accident] happened at highway speed,” Said the City of Courtenay’s Fire Cheif Don Bardonnex.
Mounties are not releasing further details about the accident.
