17-year-old missing from Nanaimo found safe

Nanaimo RCMP say the 17-year-old who was reported missing on Dec. 27 has been found safe.

Nanaimo RCMP say the family of a 17-year-old who was last seen in Nanaimo on Dec. 22 are extremely concerned for his safety and well-being.

He was last seen in a youth shelter on Dec. 22 where he was living. He had told his family he would spend Christmas with them in Bowser, but he did not arrive.

He last contacted his family by phone on Dec. 23, when he said he was in Port Alberni.

His parents deposited money into his bank account, but that money has not been withdrawn. Calls and texts to his phone have gone unanswered.

He was reported missing on Dec. 27 to Nanaimo RCMP.
